The Almont Transformation: From Drafty to Delightful

This week’s project took me to the charming town of Almont, Michigan. The client had a vision for their home – a fresh start, a space that felt modern and inviting. My job? To breathe new life into their interior with a complete transformation.

Walking into the house, I could immediately sense the potential. Sunlight streamed through the windows, highlighting the blank canvas of the rooms. The existing doors and baseboards were already removed. That’s where I came in.

First up were the doors. Classic 6 panel models that complemented the clean lines of the house. The transformation was immediate – suddenly, each room felt more defined and purposeful. Next, I tackled the baseboards and installed brand new HVAC vent covers. These not only looked sharp, but also ensured optimal air circulation throughout the space. New baseboards that added a touch of elegance and helped tie the entire look together.

While I was at it, I couldn’t ignore a small crack in the ceiling – a minor flaw, but one that caught the eye. A few layers of mud and tape and some fresh primer later, and the ceiling looked good and ready for spot painting.

Finally, the pièce de résistance – the paint job. With all the new elements in place, it was time to unify the look with a fresh coat of paint. I meticulously painted the doors and baseboards, ensuring a flawless finish that brought the entire project together.

Stepping back and surveying the final product, I felt a sense of satisfaction. The house in Almont was no longer just a collection of rooms; it was a cohesive space that exuded warmth and style. From a little outdated to absolutely delightful, the transformation was complete. It’s these moments that make my job so rewarding – helping people turn their house into a home, a place that reflects their personality and brings them joy.
